ALEX GELLERT
Chief Executive Officer
Alex is the definition of a paradox. He is a native New Yorker who is as comfortable at the latest New York restaurant as he is at chain restaurants and malls, which is what makes him such a good marketing partner because he can market both luxury and mass from personal experience. He began his career with the analytical discipline of CRM at Barry Blau & Partners and later moved to Scali, McCabe, Sloves before joining M+P. He has been married for over 30 years and has three adult boys, which makes life challenging and fun at the same time. Outside of work and family, his passions include all Francis Ford Coppola movies (Tucker: The Man and His Dream is highly underrated!) and all things Disney. He has not missed his annual visit to Walt Disney World in nearly 40 years. (He has both personal and professional reasons for this which he is happy to explain when he meets you.) He tries to live by a motto of Walt Disney, who said, “I only hope we don’t lose sight of one thing – that it was all started by a mouse” because it shows pride and humility at the same time which Alex feels is very important to the Merkley culture.
